Daniel Radcliffe hair extensions

Next up on Daniel Radcliffe’s to-do list is a new screen adaptation of Mary Shelley’s classic Gothic novel, Frankenstein. To be fair, I’m actually kind of excited about it—my boo James McAvoy is starring as the not-so-good doctor, and Downton Abbey’s Lady Sybil Jessica Brown Findlay is set to appear in it as well—but good gravy, Bettys, I CANNOT DEAL with the ‘do Daniel has been saddled with while he works on the film.

DanRad, you see, is playing Igor. This is also something I’m generally excited about, as I think it’s a terrific character role that could really stretch him as an actor. In fact, the only Gothic character role I like more than Igor is Dracula’s Renfield, which I think would also be an excellent role for Dan. But agh! That hair! It is so greasy and unkempt! What happened to the clean cut young man we’ve all come to know and love?

In a recent appearance on The Graham Norton Show (AKA the only talk show I’ll watch), Daniel revealed that the horrifying new hairstyle isn’t, in fact, his own hair. He assumes it’s “real dead human being’s hair”—or at the very least, hair donated by an actual human being. Kind of fitting, given that he’s gotten the extensions put in for a film about the nature of life and death, no?

At least it looks picture-perfect on set. In real life… not so much. Catch Dan talking to fellow Graham Norton guest Mary Berry at about the 1:08 mark below:

Tell us: Do these hair extensions freak you out as much as they do us?
